Massage with Michelle Vidal
The Massage Swedish based massage with deep tissue techniques to provide relief of muscular tension. It involves kneading, long gliding strokes with use of hands, elbows, and fist while applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. Cupping or gua sha / muscle scraping included upon request at no additional cost.
The purpose of this massage is more passive allowing the client to decompress to promote relaxation. Feel free to let go and fall asleep if you'd like.
The Sports Massage Sports massage is specific work to target soft tissues to aid in musculature system recovery that are a significant part of athletic performance and functional activities. Manual therapy techniques include myofascial release, percussive therapy, active movements, cupping, scraping, and stretching. Clients will remain clothed with shorts & [for women] sports bra during the session to allow for access to tissues while performing movements.
The purpose of this massage involves more active and engaging movements from the client to intentionally work through specific areas.
The Stretch Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) is assisted stretching that uses circulatory, gentle oscillating movements of traction and stabilization techniques to decompress joints and expand space in the soft tissues to improve range of motion, flexibility, and mobility. Trigger point can be done for additional tension release. Clients will remain clothed, please wear stretchy attire.
The purpose of this stretch involves techniques of contract-relax known as PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) so client engagement is involved in order to improve range.
